How do I get to the chalet?

The chalet is located at 1,500 meters above sea level in the heart of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps. Access is via gondola and chairlift, followed by a scenic 20-minute walk through alpine pastures. Detailed arrival instructions will be provided before your stay.

Is the chalet accessible by car?

No, the chalet cannot be reached directly by car, as driving on Velika Planina is prohibited. Guests can drive to Velika Planina, park at the main parking area, and then walk approximately 1 hour to the chalet.

Are there any shops or restaurants on Velika Planina?

There are no grocery stores on Velika Planina. However, several restaurants operate during the season, where you can enjoy local dishes or order takeaway meals. You can also purchase traditional dairy products, such as cheese and sour milk, directly from the shepherds in the shepherds’ village. For added convenience, we offer a selection of beverages in the chalet at reasonable prices for our guests.

Is the chalet suitable for a winter holiday?

Absolutely. During winter, the surrounding alpine pastures become a ski resort, offering a true ski-in, ski-out experience. The chalet also features a cozy indoor fireplace available from mid-October to mid-April.

Is the chalet private?

Yes. The chalet is situated on the edge of a quiet alpine village and surrounded by nature, providing complete privacy and stunning panoramic views of the Alps and the Ljubljana Valley.

Can I drink the tap water?

No. The chalet’s water is not suitable for drinking. Bottled water and other beverages are available for purchase on-site at reasonable prices.

Is there Wi-Fi available?

There is no Wi‑Fi available at the chalet. However, cellular reception is generally good, allowing guests to use mobile data. A nearby restaurant also offers free Wi‑Fi for visitors.

Is the sauna included in the rental price?

The sauna is available for guest use at an additional charge. Please let us know in advance if you would like to use it during your stay.

Is the chalet pet-friendly?

Pets are allowed only upon prior explicit agreement. An additional cleaning fee will apply.

Is there outdoor space?

Yes. The chalet features a large private garden with sun loungers and benches, perfect for relaxing, reading, dining outdoors, or simply enjoying the mountain views.

Is the fireplace available year-round?

The indoor fireplace is available only during the winter season, from mid-October to mid-April.
